Have you ever worn something and felt like people kept complimenting your outfit but you didn’t understand why? I have often felt that way and over the last few years since I’ve been documenting my outfits for my own future reference, I’ve figured out a pattern for planning outfits that works. For me, it simply comes down to color. Colors that complement one another and also complement my own coloring.  I thought I’d share this trick with you for putting outfits together that you feel good in.  I’ve found it is especially helpful when trying to plan outfits for a trip.

Fashion Deconstruction: Color

Step 1: I look back over photos I’ve pinned, like this one, and simply deconstruct it by color:  White Top, black skinnies, gray boots, gray belt, & sunglasses

Step 2: I see what I have in my closet in the same or similar colors

Step 3: Try the outfit on

Step 4: Get the thumbs up or thumbs down from my husband & son
