Pressed juice bars are all the rage in NY and LA right now, but minus the pretty packaging and clever marketing, many of them boil down to creative concoctions that carry a boatload of sugar and zero fiber. That said, I don’t “juice” but I do like to start my mornings off with a smoothie of some sort. It’s the quickest way to get your greens and I can drink it on my commute to the office. Here is a green smoothie that is as good as it is good for you. The ginger gives it a spicy kick. Recipe follows this post.
Blend the following ingredients in a Nutribullet or Vitamix blender.
Bunch of Purple Kale (stems removed)
2 Slices of Ginger
3 leaves of basil chopped
1 green apple sliced
2 Slices of lemon
1 tablespoon of flaxseed
1/4 cup of water
