Hilton Hawaiian Village

Hilton Hawaiian Village 2

Hawaii SmilesLast week we were in Honolulu for the Foursquare International Church Leaders Convention. Every year it’s held in a different city, and this year Jeff was especially happy that it was going to be held in Hawaii, his favorite place on Earth. We stayed on the beach at Waikiki at the ultra family-friendly Hilton Hawaiian Village.  The last time we stayed here Luke was just a baby, so it was fun to revisit the property now that he was old enough to enjoy some more of the amenities with us.  I can’t say enough good things about the Hilton Hawaiian Village. The staff, especially was so accommodating and kind.  They upgraded us to an amazing suite upon arrival and when our flight got canceled, they extended us an extra day in the same room for the same price.  Being there a week really felt like home away from home.  The property is very large with multiple “towers”.  We stayed in the Ali’i Tower and booked an ocean front room, so that would be my advice if you want to ensure you get a great view.  The hotel is right on the beach at Waikiki so it’s the best location for water sports of every kind.  If your children are too young for the ocean, the hotel also has a Lagoon where they rent paddle boats, boards, and floats for kids and babies.  There is also a spa on location, for us moms who prefer massage to stand up paddle-boarding.  Here are some details on our stay.

The extensive property boasts mini waterfalls throughout, like this one behind Luke and me and they have an entire village of shops and restaurants.

Luke enjoyed the water slide very much.

Our one bedroom suite was so amazing.

We had a sliding glass door in the bedroom with a view of Waikiki.  We went to sleep every night to the sound of the waves… and all the other activities on the beach. Including massive fireworks show on Friday night that sounded like bombs going off but was pretty cool.

The Living area had a couch big enough for the three of us to sprawl out on. Made me wanna rethink my furniture situation at home.

There was a workspace and internet access was complimentary since I am a Hilton Honors member.  Highly recommend joining.

The best amenity for Luke was the Playstation and DVD player along with free game and movie rentals from the kiosk downstairs.  Our first vacation with zero movie charges!

My favorite was the bathroom, as usual.  There was a double sink for Jeff and I which feels so luxurious, given our cramped sink space at home.

Bathtub. My travel essential.

Most fascinating amenity- the electronic bidet toilet.  Push buttons to clean and dry.  I only tried it once.  The toilets in both bathrooms were equipped with it along with a toilet seat warmer, so the toilet was never cold to sit on.  Very fancy.

Hilton Garden Inn View

This was the view from our living room.  I could stare at it for days. Aloha and Mahalo Hilton Hawaiian Village!
