Love Does

Love DoesThis year I was able to attend our Annual Foursquare Church Convention in Anaheim with Jeff and Luke and I took away so much from the conference. It was an amazing gift to be able to take a few days off from work to focus on God and hear from other Pastors about what is going on in their Churches around the world. One of the most inspiring speakers was Bob Goff, the Author of “Love Does“.  In addition to being an author, Bob is a lawyer and the Honorary Consul for the Republic of Uganda to the United States, but more impressive than his resume is his ability to love people and his infectious joy.  It wasn’t so much what he said that challenged or inspired me that morning, it was the way he said it. He was so passionate and happy to be telling his story.  At one time he carried around a big silver bucket with him wherever he went so that he could remind himself that he needed to fill his bucket with patience.  As a result, he became more patient.  My favorite thing he said was “make some room in your life. Don’t be a hoarder with so many things to do that you have to maneuver around them.  Love people you don’t understand.  People believe they are defined by their greatest mess-ups but they’re defined by the way they love”.  I was so blessed to hear Bob’s message and can’t wait to read his book.  Here are some photos from the conference.
