Merry Christmas

The word “Christmas” literally means “Christ’s Mass”, an annual commemoration of the birth of Jesus.  According to Luke 2:10, on the night Jesus was born, the angel who appeared to the shepherds in the field said “Behold I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people”.  That passage has always amazed me because at the time it was said, Bethlehem was just a tiny little town in an obscure little country, yet today people all over the world experience the great joy of Christmas.  Even those who don’t celebrate- this great joy is for them too, for it shall be to  “ALL people”.   The joy that a Savior has been born.  The one promised to the Jews..the one who would make a way for the gentiles.  The ONE.  Joy to the World! Merry Christmas everyone!
