Despite having the gift of Faith, I do not possess the most positive of attitudes. I came across this article on Forbes which summarized the book [Positive Intelligence] and why only 20% of teams and individuals achieve their true potential. In a nutshell, it is the negative “self talk” that goes on in our heads most days that defeats us. I took the [PQ (Positive Intelligence Quotient) Quiz] and shared it with my team at AOL last week as a fun exercise. My score was a 42. That is no bueno. For perspective, a good score is 75 or above. What this tells me is that I have a lot of room for improvement in the area of positivity. The good news is that I am really good at detecting when my negative “saboteurs” are at work in my head so that means I will have a much easier time silencing them in the future. I’m committed to being more intentional about positive thoughts, we’ll see in 21 days if I have a better score.
